My crew went to Galveston, Texas, last month—one of our favorite places to gather with extended family. The reason we like it so much? For active families, the city offers so much more than miles of beaches to beat the heat. There's Schlitterbahn Waterpark, Moody Gardens rainforest and aquarium, the Pleasure Pier amusement park (shown above), and—just a half hour away--the Space Center Houston.
