If your family's like mine, you've got waaay too much candy hanging around your house right about now. Here are a few ideas for what to do with it:
* Trade It In. Let your kids pick a few choice pieces they want to keep, then swap the rest for a toy or cash.
* Donate It. Whether you offer your kids something in exchange or they volunteer to give away some of their stash, there are many organizations that will take that Halloween candy off your hands, such as Operation Stars & Strips and Operation Gratitude. You can also contact your local nursing home, homeless shelter, or fire station to see if they accept donations.
* Freeze It. A lot of candy, particularly chocolate, freezes well. Save some to add to cupcakes, cookies, milkshakes, and other goodies and you'll save money throughout the year.
